Untitled (supermoon datamosh)
Single channel digital video, 2012
4:3, RT: 01:53 The perigee-syzygy moon of March 2011 brought many people outdoors to marvel and subsequently photograph the closest view of a full moon in decades. I contemplated how, for perhaps the first time in a while, people may have been briefly watching the sky instead of televisions; the medium for mass viewing consumption moving from a relatively new electronic device to the enduring heavens. I digitally overlaid and compressed images of the Super Moon with recorded television static to create a short video exploring this astronomical phenomenon. |
