Single channel video with sound, paper, 2011
While spending time in Mexico I observed how our country’s actions (and inactions) have impacted the safety and well-being of Mexican citizens. A quagmire of problems on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border has resulted in unbelievable violence and cruelty.
My intention is to bring attention to these issues by using video, sound, and performance.
This piece was installed in a store-front window in downtown Dayton, Ohio for two weeks. The top of the screen was cut to the shape of the US-Méxican border.
The video and sound were recorded in Cuernavaca, Morelos, México.

Kick the frozen milk gun as hard and far as you can. It will quickly break apart. Choose a larger piece and keep kicking until the piece melts and fades into a small, indiscernible spot on the pavement. Take a photo with digital camera or mobile device and email to firstname.lastname@example.org
